Quick Broccoli Sausage Sheet Pan

This recipe is a fuss-free weeknight dinner that’s big on flavor. Everything cooks on a single sheet pan for minimal cleanup!

Ingredients:

  • 1 large head of broccoli, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1 pound (16 oz) sausage links, sliced (your favorite type)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Cooking Guide:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the broccoli florets, sausage slices, olive oil, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Make sure everything is evenly coated.
  3. Spread the mixture out on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Roast for 20-25 minutes, stirring the ingredients halfway through, until the broccoli is tender-crisp and the sausage is cooked through. The sausage should be browned and no longer pink in the center.
  5. (Optional) If you like your cheese melted, remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top. Return the pan to the oven and broil for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Tips:

  • For a heartier meal, add diced red onion or bell pepper to the sheet pan along with the broccoli.
  • If your broccoli florets are large, cut them into smaller pieces for more even cooking.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan. This will prevent the vegetables and sausage from browning properly. Use two baking sheets if necessary.
  • Change up the flavors by using different types of sausage, such as spicy Italian sausage, chicken sausage, or chorizo.
  • You can also substitute other vegetables for the broccoli, such as Brussels sprouts, asparagus, or cauliflower.
  • Serve this dish with a side of brown rice, quinoa, or roasted potatoes for a complete meal.
