Perfect Creamy Alfredo Baked Salmon
This recipe combines tender, flaky salmon with a rich and flavorful alfredo sauce, all baked to gooey perfection.
Ingredients:
- Salmon fillets (2, about 6 oz each)
- Olive oil (1 tablespoon)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- Garlic cloves (2, minced)
- Butter (3 tablespoons)
- Heavy cream (1 ½ cups)
- Parmesan cheese (1 cup, grated)
- Dried Italian seasoning (1 teaspoon)
- Lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Cooking Guide:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the salmon fillets for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown. Transfer the salmon to the prepared baking dish.
- In the same skillet, melt butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Whisk in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the creamy alfredo sauce over the salmon fillets in the baking dish. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Tips:
- For extra flavor, marinate the salmon fillets in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, and your favorite herbs for 15 minutes before searing.
- Use a shallow baking dish to ensure the salmon cooks evenly and the sauce gets bubbly on top.
- Don’t overcook the salmon. It’s best served slightly pink in the center for maximum tenderness.
- If the alfredo sauce seems too thick, whisk in a splash of reserved pasta water (if using) or additional milk to thin it out.
- To add a pop of color and extra nutrients, serve the baked salmon with roasted asparagus or broccoli.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave until warmed through.
