These Honey Garlic Salmon Bowls are a delicious and easy meal packed with flavor. The salmon is marinated in a simple honey garlic sauce and then baked to perfection. The bowls are then assembled with your favorite toppings, like rice, avocado, and cucumber.
Ingredients:
- Salmon:
- 1.5 lbs salmon fillet, cut into 1-inch cubes
- Marinade:
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Bowls:
- 2 cups cooked rice (brown or white)
- 1 avocado, cubed
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Cooking Guide:
- Marinate the Salmon: In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper. Add the salmon cubes and toss to coat. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for extra flavor.
- Bake the Salmon: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the salmon cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Assemble the Bowls: Divide the cooked rice among bowls. Top with the baked salmon, avocado, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and cilantro. Garnish with sesame seeds.
Tips:
- For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
- Don’t have fresh ginger? Use 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger instead.
- Serve the salmon bowls with a drizzle of sriracha mayo or your favorite dipping sauce.
- This recipe is easily doubled or tripled to feed a crowd.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
