Honey Glazed Salmon Recipe

Honey Glazed Salmon

This recipe is for a simple and flavorful honey-glazed salmon that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The glaze is made with honey, soy sauce, and a touch of garlic, and it gives the salmon a beautiful caramelized crust.

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets (6-ounce each, skin-on or skinless)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Cooking Guide:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If using skin-on salmon, place the fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Brush the salmon fillets generously with the glaze.
  4. Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Baste the salmon with the remaining glaze in the pan halfway through cooking for extra flavor.
  5. If the glaze starts to burn, you can tent the baking sheet with aluminum foil for the last few minutes of cooking.

Tips:

  • For a thicker glaze, simmer the glaze in a saucepan over medium heat for a few minutes before brushing it on the salmon.
  • You can add a teaspoon of sriracha or Dijon mustard to the glaze for a little bit of a kick.
  • If you don’t have fresh garlic, you can use ½ teaspoon of garlic powder instead.
  • Serve the salmon with roasted vegetables, rice, or quinoa.

Additional Tips:

  • To check if the salmon is cooked through, insert a flaky fork into the thickest part of the fillet. If the salmon flakes easily and is opaque throughout, it is cooked.
  • Let the salmon rest for a few minutes after taking it out of the oven before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the fish.
  • You can also cook the salmon on the stovetop. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the salmon for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
