Easy Homemade Cauliflower Pizza

This recipe is a great way to enjoy a delicious and healthy pizza with a cauliflower crust.

Ingredients:

  • For the Crust:

    • 1 medium head of cauliflower, riced (or 1 (12 oz) bag frozen riced cauliflower, thawed and squeezed dry)
    • 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1 egg, lightly beaten
    • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Toppings:

    • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • Your favorite pizza toppings (pepperoni, sausage, vegetables, etc.)

Cooking Guide:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the crust: If using fresh cauliflower, pulse the florets in a food processor until it resembles rice. In a large bowl, combine the riced cauliflower, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is well combined.
  3. Form the crust: Transfer the cauliflower mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Use your hands to press the mixture down into a 10-12 inch circle, forming an even crust. Make sure the edges are also evenly pressed down.
  4. Bake the crust: Bake the crust for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy around the edges. You can flip the crust halfway through baking for extra crispiness (optional).
  5. Add toppings: Remove the crust from the oven and spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the top. Add your desired toppings and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake again: Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let cool slightly and slice. Enjoy your delicious homemade cauliflower pizza!

Tips:

  • For a firmer crust, pre-bake the riced cauliflower for 10 minutes before adding the cheese and egg. Spread the cauliflower rice on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) until slightly dry.
  • If the crust seems too wet, add a tablespoon of almond flour or coconut flour to absorb some moisture.
  • Get creative with your toppings! You can use any of your favorite pizza toppings on this cauliflower crust.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through.
