- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese for topping

- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- Fresh basil leaves, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.
- In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and beaten egg. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked ground beef mixture to the cheese mixture and stir to combine.
- Stuff each pasta shell with the meat and cheese mixture, placing them in a baking dish as you go.
- Pour the marinara sauce over the stuffed shells and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh basil leaves, if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Tips
To ensure the pasta shells are easy to fill, cook them al dente, so they still have a bit of bite to them.
You can also add other ingredients to the meat and cheese mixture, such as chopped bell peppers or spinach, to suit your taste.
Let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving, as the cheese will be very hot and bubbly straight out of the oven.
