Our Best Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings

These crispy air fryer chicken wings are bursting with garlicky Parmesan flavor and are surprisingly easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound chicken wings, separated at the joint (drumettes and flats)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Cooking Guide:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, paprika, and black pepper.
  3. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd them.
  4. Cook for 20 minutes, then flip the wings and continue cooking for another 15-20 minutes, or until the wings are golden brown and cooked through (165°F internal temperature).
  5. In a small bowl, combine the Parmesan cheese and parsley (if using).
  6. Once the wings are cooked, remove them from the air fryer and immediately toss them in the Parmesan cheese mixture to coat.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as blue cheese or ranch dressing.

Tips:

  • For extra crispy wings, preheat your air fryer to a higher temperature (425°F or 220°C) and cook for a shorter amount of time (around 25-30 minutes total), flipping halfway through.
  • If your air fryer basket is small, you may need to cook the wings in batches.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket, as this will prevent the wings from crisping up properly.
  • To test if the wings are cooked through, insert an instant-read thermometer into the thickest part of the wing. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  • You can also add other seasonings to this recipe, such as cayenne pepper for a spicier kick or dried thyme for a more herbal flavor.
  • Leftover wings can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat them in the air fryer for a few minutes to crisp them back up.
