Beef Chuck Roast Recipes Instant Pot Frozen
Servings: 6-8 people
Ingredients:
* 3-4 pound frozen beef chuck roast
* 1 onion, sliced
* 3 cloves of garlic, minced
* 1 cup of beef broth
* 1 cup of red wine (optional)
* 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
* 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
* 1/2 teaspoon of salt
* 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
* 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
Instructions:
1. Press the "Saute" button on the Instant Pot and heat the pot until it reads "HOT".
2. Add the sliced onion and cook until it's translucent and starting to caramelize (about 5 minutes).
3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
4. Add the frozen beef chuck roast to the pot and sear it on all sides until it's browned (about 2-3 minutes).
5. Add the beef broth, red wine (if using), brown sugar, thyme, salt, and pepper to the pot. Stir to combine.
6. Close the lid of the Instant Pot and make sure the valve is set to "SEALING". Press the "Meat/Stew" button or "Manual" mode and set the cooking time to 90 minutes at high pressure.
7. Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes after cooking, then quick-release any remaining pressure.
8. Stir in the flour to thicken the sauce.
9. Slice the beef against the grain and serve with the rich and flavorful sauce spooned over the top.
Cook Time: 90 minutes
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 105 minutes
Variations:
* For a spicy kick, add 1-2 teaspoons of chili flakes or diced jalapenos to the pot with the onion and garlic.
* For a Mediterranean twist, add 1 cup of chopped olives, 1 cup of sliced mushrooms, and 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley to the pot with the onion and garlic.
* For a rich and creamy version, add 1 cup of heavy cream or half-and-half to the pot with the flour to thicken the sauce.
* For a slow cooker version, cook the roast on low for 8-10 hours instead of using the Instant Pot.
