Stew Meat Recipes Instant Pot Beef
Ingredients:
* 2 pounds beef stew meat (such as chuck or round)
* 1 large onion, sliced
* 3 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 cup beef broth
* 1 cup red wine (optional)
* 1 tablespoon tomato paste
* 1 teaspoon dried thyme
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* 2 bay leaves
* 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
* 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
Instructions:
1. Press the "Saute" button on the Instant Pot and heat the pot until it reads "HOT".
2. Add the sliced onion and cook until it's translucent and starting to caramelize, about 5 minutes.
3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
4. Add the beef stew meat and cook until it's browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.
5. Add the beef broth, red wine (if using), tomato paste, thyme, salt, pepper, and bay leaves. Stir to combine.
6. Add the sliced carrots and cubed potatoes.
7. Close the lid of the Instant Pot and make sure the valve is set to "SEALING".
8. Press the "Meat/Stew" button or "Manual" mode and set the cooking time to 30 minutes at high pressure.
9. When the cooking time is up, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick-release any remaining pressure.
10. Remove the lid and stir the stew to ensure everything is coated in the sauce.
