Quick Cheeseburger Lettuce Wraps
These lettuce wraps are a lighter take on the classic cheeseburger, perfect for a satisfying yet low-carb meal. You can customize them with your favorite burger toppings!
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey, chicken, or sausage)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 head romaine lettuce, leaves separated and washed
- Optional toppings: Sliced tomato, red onion, pickles, shredded cheese, avocado, mayonnaise
Cooking Guide:
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, combine ground meat, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add the meat mixture to the hot skillet and crumble it with a spoon as it cooks. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until browned throughout.
- Drain any excess grease from the pan. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and Dijon mustard. Cook for an additional minute, until heated through.
- Assemble the lettuce wraps: Place a scoop of the seasoned meat mixture in each lettuce leaf. Top with your desired toppings (tomato, onion, pickles, cheese, avocado, mayo, etc.).
- Fold or roll the lettuce leaf around the filling to create a wrap. Enjoy!
Tips:
- For added flavor, toast the lettuce leaves lightly in a dry skillet before assembling.
- Want a cheesier wrap? Add shredded cheese to the meat mixture while it cooks, or place a slice of cheese on top of the meat in each wrap.
- Make it a meal! Serve these wraps with a side of sweet potato fries, onion rings, or a salad.
- Leftover cooked meat can be used in other dishes, such as stuffed peppers, omelets, or scrambled eggs.
