Beef and Parmesan Tortellini Recipe

The Beef and Parmesan Tortellini Recipe is a flavorful and savory dish that combines the richness of ground beef and Parmesan cheese with the tender texture of homemade tortellini. This recipe is a twist on the classic Italian dish, adding a hearty and comforting touch to the traditional filling. The Parmesan cheese adds a salty and creamy element, while the beef provides a meaty and satisfying bite. This dish is perfect for a cozy dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients:

* 1 pound ground beef
* 1 onion, finely chopped
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
* 1 egg
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 1 teaspoon dried basil
* 1 teaspoon dried oregano
* Salt and pepper, to taste
* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 2 eggs, for egg wash
* 1 cup vegetable broth, for cooking
* Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
* Nutmeg, to taste (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon or spatula as it cooks. Cook until the beef is fully browned, about 5-6 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, basil, and oregano.
3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, Parmesan cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well until just combined.
4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the all-purpose flour to a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Cut into squares, about 3 inches per side.
5. Place a tablespoon of the beef and Parmesan mixture in the center of each square. Fold the square in half to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
6. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully add the tortellini to the pot and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
7. Remove the tortellini from the pot with a slotted spoon and drain off any excess water.
8. Serve the tortellini with your favorite sauce and garnished with chopped parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
