Honey Garlic Chicken Wings: A Sticky and Flavorful Treat

Craving crispy chicken wings with a sweet and savory glaze? Honey garlic wings are the perfect solution! This recipe is easy to follow and delivers finger-lickin’ good results every time.

Ingredients:

  • Wings:
    • 2 pounds chicken wings, separated at the joint (drumettes and flats)
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Sauce:
    • 1/2 cup honey
    • 1/3 cup soy sauce
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional, for a kick)
    • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
    • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Cooking Guide:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with vegetable oil, salt, and pepper. Arrange the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer. Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  3. While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, sriracha (if using), cornstarch, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer over medium heat, whisking constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Once the wings are cooked through, remove them from the oven and increase the oven temperature to broil (high).
  5. Toss the wings in the honey garlic sauce until evenly coated. Return the wings to the baking sheet and broil for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the sauce is sticky and bubbly.
  6. Let the wings cool slightly before serving with your favorite dipping sauce, like ranch or blue cheese.

Tips:

  • For extra crispy wings, bake them for an additional 5-10 minutes after broiling.
  • You can adjust the amount of sriracha to your desired level of spiciness.
  • Leftover wings can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer until crispy.
  • Feel free to experiment with other flavors! Add a pinch of ginger, sesame oil, or brown sugar to the sauce for a twist.
