Lobster Tails Recipe With Garlic Lemon Butter

Lobster Tails with Garlic Lemon Butter

This recipe creates delicious and tender lobster tails bathed in a flavorful garlic lemon butter sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lobster tails (5-6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Cooking Guide:

  1. Thaw and Prepare the Lobster Tails: Thaw lobster tails completely in the refrigerator overnight. Using kitchen shears, cut through the top shell lengthwise, starting from the tail fin and stopping just before reaching the head sac. Carefully remove the vein running down the tail (optional).
  2. Make the Garlic Lemon Butter: In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to broil with the rack positioned about 6 inches from the heat source.
  4. Broil the Lobster Tails: Brush the lobster meat with olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper. Place the lobster tails, flesh-side up, on a baking sheet. Broil for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the flesh is opaque and cooked through.
  5. Baste with Garlic Lemon Butter: During the last minute of broiling, spoon the garlic lemon butter generously over the lobster meat.

Tips:

  • Don’t overcook: Lobster cooks quickly. Be mindful of the broiling time to avoid dry and tough lobster meat.
  • Garlic variations: If you prefer a milder garlic flavor, use less or roast the garlic cloves whole for about 10 minutes before mincing them.
  • Fresh herbs: Feel free to experiment with other fresh herbs like chives, tarragon, or dill in the garlic butter.
  • Garnish: For a beautiful presentation, garnish your plated lobster tails with fresh lemon wedges and chopped parsley.
  • Serving suggestions: Pair your lobster tails with melted butter for dipping, steamed asparagus, or a light lemon risotto.
