Instant Pot Corn on the Cob
This recipe is a quick and easy way to cook delicious corn on the cob in your Instant Pot.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt (optional)
- 4-6 ears of fresh corn on the cob, husked and silked
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed (for serving)
Cooking Guide:
-
Add water and salt (if using) to the Instant Pot liner.
-
Place the husked and silked corn cobs in the pot. You can arrange them in a single layer standing upright or broken in half to fit more comfortably.
-
Scatter the cubed butter over the corn cobs (optional).
-
Close the lid and ensure the pressure valve is set to “Sealing.“
-
Pressure Cook on High for 4 minutes.
-
Once the cook time is complete, let the pressure release naturally for 5 minutes (Natural Release). Then, carefully release any remaining pressure manually (Quick Release) following your Instant Pot’s instructions.
-
Open the lid and carefully remove the corn cobs with tongs. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings like butter, salt, pepper, or flavored herb butter.
Tips:
- For fresh, plump corn, choose cobs with tight husks and green silks.
- If your corn cobs don’t fit comfortably in a single layer, you can break them in half.
- You can adjust the cooking time slightly depending on the thickness of your corn cobs. For thicker cobs, consider adding an extra minute of cook time.
- Like your corn with a little char? After pressure cooking, you can quickly brown the corn cobs under the broiler for a smoky flavor. Just watch them closely to avoid burning.
- Experiment with different flavored butters for added variety. Try herbs like chives or parsley, or a spicy kick with cayenne pepper.
