Air Fryer Crispy Chicken Wings

These wings are super easy to make in your air fryer and come out perfectly crispy every time!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes (or whole wings, cut into tips and drumettes)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Your favorite dipping sauce (optional)

Cooking Guide:

  1. Prep the Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This helps to ensure crispy skin. In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil and spices. Season generously with salt and pepper.

  2. Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for at least 5 minutes. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching. If your air fryer is small, you may need to cook the wings in batches.

  3. Cook the Wings: Air fry the wings for 20-25 minutes, flipping them halfway through, or until the skin is golden brown and crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  4. Serve: Once cooked, transfer the wings to a plate and toss them in your favorite wing sauce (optional). Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, blue cheese, or BBQ sauce.

Tips:

  • For extra crispy wings: Marinate the wings in the olive oil and spices for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight in the refrigerator for even more flavorful wings.
  • Shake the basket: To ensure even cooking, gently shake the basket halfway through cooking.
  • Don’t overcrowd the basket: This will prevent the wings from crisping up properly. Cook them in batches if necessary.
  • Cooking time may vary: Depending on the size of your wings and air fryer, the cooking time may vary slightly. Keep an eye on the wings and cook them until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Wing size: If you are using whole wings, you may need to increase the cooking time by a few minutes.

Enjoy your delicious homemade air fryer chicken wings!
