Easy Salmon Patties
These salmon patties are a delicious and healthy way to enjoy salmon. They’re easy to make and can be served on a bun, with a salad, or on their own.
Ingredients:
- 1 (14.75 ounce) can canned salmon, flaked
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
- ¼ cup chopped onion
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon dried dill
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking Guide:
- In a large bowl, combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, olive oil, lemon juice, and dill. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, or the patties will be tough.
- Form the mixture into 4-6 patties.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil if needed.
- Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Tips:
- For a more flavorful patty, you can use leftover cooked salmon instead of canned salmon. Just flake the salmon and add it to the bowl with the other ingredients.
- If the mixture seems too dry, you can add a tablespoon or two of milk or reserved liquid from the canned salmon.
- You can also bake the salmon patties instead of frying them. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the patties on the baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Serve the salmon patties on a hamburger bun with your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, and tartar sauce. They can also be served with a side of lemon wedges, dill sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce.
- Leftover salmon patties can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat them gently in a skillet over medium heat or in the microwave.
