Easy Baked Salmon with Lemon and Herbs

This recipe is a simple and flavorful way to bake salmon fillets. It’s perfect for a weeknight meal and can be easily customized with your favorite herbs and spices.

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (optional)
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced

Cooking Guide:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or baking dish.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, garlic, parsley, and dill (if using).
  4. Arrange the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon the herb mixture over the salmon, making sure to coat the tops and sides.
  5. Place the lemon slices around the salmon fillets.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The flesh should be opaque and slightly pink in the center.

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, let the salmon come to room temperature for about 15 minutes before baking.
  • Don’t overcook the salmon! It will become dry and tough.
  • To test for doneness, gently press the center of the salmon fillet with your finger. If it flakes easily, it’s cooked through.
  • You can substitute other herbs for parsley and dill, such as basil, thyme, or rosemary.
  • For a crispy skin, broil the salmon for the last minute or two of cooking. Watch it closely to avoid burning.
  • Serve baked salmon with roasted vegetables, rice, or quinoa for a complete and healthy meal.
  • Leftover baked salmon can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
